HEART OF A MAN
What is the heart of a man so full of hate, what is the heart so full of love.
How can the two exist in one place and yet be so far apart.
Why does the heart hate so easily but yet love is so difficult.
Why does love flee from a man
Can darkness and light be contained in the same place.
No the one will consume the other but hate and love dwell in the heart.
How can this be so, I say that the heart is the soul of a man and always embraces hate.
We say we love but, do we
We say I care, but can we
Love why do you run from me.
Why must you flee, am I that hateful, am I that lonely.
Yet I yearn for love to embrace it but only consume it with my hate.
Is my soul so dark, is it so lost that love can’t be found
Hate you snare me with your lies and bind me up, what is a man to do.
I beg for hate to leave, but it clings to the very marrow of my bones.
So I say seek love with even your last breath and shun hate.
For love will come in many shapes and forms, for the riches of a man are all the people he has shown love.
Love shall return to him. So to embrace love is to embrace another soul.
For this is the heart of a true man
